I know you’re waiting with bated breath to hear all about my adventures at BookCon, but I still haven’t written up a recap or haul post yet. I promise I will soon, though! I’ve just been catching up on work/school/sleep, in roughly that order.
But anyway, it's Wednesday, and this is a book blog, so you know what that means: Waiting On Wednesday. Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
Summary:
A New York Times bestselling author brings dark secrets to life in a lush new YA perfect for fans of Libba Bray or Cassandra Clare. The thrilling start to a richly drawn, romance-filled series, this epic will have readers coming back for more. With a gorgeous Romanian setting, stunning Parisian gowns, and dark brooding young men, readers will be swept up by this epic adventure of two girls in a battle for their lives.
As you might remember from previous reviews of yore, I’m not the biggest Libba Bray or Cassandra Clare fan in the world, so that line from the summary didn't do much to reel me in, yet this book still seems to call to me. The cover art is captivating and ominous, and the premise sounds pretty exciting (you can read a more in-depth one on its Goodreads page). I like werewolves, historical dramas, romance, and YA—why not read all of those genres in one go?
What’s your Waiting On Wednesday? I love learning about upcoming book releases through this meme, so don’t be shy—share them with me in the comments.

YES. Doesn't this sound utterly amazing? Fantasy is my favorite genre, and I love the cover, too! Great pick!

Thanks, Hafsah! I can't wait to get my hands on it!
DeleteI've heard of this one and I am definitely excited for this release! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteErica @ Read It. Note It.
My WoW!
Same, it looks so good. I will definitely check out your WoW. Thanks for visiting, Erica!
DeleteI've seen this book around quite a bit lately! I'm not a huge fan of fantasy books – ok, that's not true – I like them, I just don't read them very often. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one though.

Thanks for visiting, Kim. I am checking out your WoW next. What genre do you usually read instead?
DeleteYes! I requested it on NetGalley, but they declined :( I guess I have to wait for the publication like other people then, but I just can't wait until July. Silver in the Blood just sounds like my thing :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hate getting declined on NetGalley. When I first signed up, I got declined for nearly every request, but once I built up reviews on there, I get declined much less now. Thanks for visiting my post, Sofia! Good luck with future NetGalley requests!
DeleteI'm generally put off if there's another author's name in the summary, even if it's one I like. Anyway, I'm waiting on this one, too -- so great pick this week! =)

Yes, there's something about it... making it look like the author is riding the coat-tails of another. You can't blame the author, though. That's the editorial and publicity teams of the publisher at work.
DeleteThanks for the comment. I am checking out your WoW next!
Werewolves are hit or miss for me, but this one sounds so good and I can't wait to give it a shot! The cover is wonderful!
